Bread Uppuma
Bread is only for sick people is what I thought before I left to Singapore.
When I was in Singapore I saw so many varieties in bread. They were very good and tasty too (ofcourse most of them high calorie too ;-)). However they all had western taste in it. When I came back decided to customize (thats techi term) it to Indian taste. And thats how this bread upma came.
Preparation time: 10 min (if you are not too slow in cutting vegetables).
Ingredients: Onion, Capsicum, Chilli powder, Salt, Mustard seeds (kadughu), Asafoetida (perughayam), Oil (1-2 table spoons) and Bread (4-6 slices).
Method:
- Chop the vegetables.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Add mustard seeds and asafoetida to it.
- Add cut vegetables to it along with chilli powder and salt. Saute it
- Add the bread pieces and mix them.
- In a minute remove the mixture from heat.
Bread upma is ready to be served.
