A Tribute to Nagesh

Today veteran actor Nagesh passed away.

I am a great fan of him. He is such a great comedian whom our industry is going to miss. He is not just a comedian but also a great character artist. Who can ever forget his roles in Thiruvilaiyadal, Magalir Mattum, Server Sundaram, Kadhalika Neram Illai, Namavar and many more.

Today, as I was watching him in the news channel, saw tears in the eyes of Kamal Hassan. This shows what kind of artist we have lost.

I owe this posting for this great legend NAGESH.

May his soul rest in peace.

A day at Crescent Engg College

Today I had been to Crescent college of Engg for a training program.

Three things which caught my attention:

1. They had paccka facilities for physically challenged students. They had ramps all over the college, lifts for climbing floors and a separate loo.

2. The lift man was a physically challenged person. It was just 2 floor lift which actually need no operator. I think they wanted to give him a source of income.

3. Their seminar halls- All the seats had foldable writing pads which was hidden under the seat handle. This is such a innovative thing where people can take notes and still does not occupy much space.

But don't ask me about the students... After the program I am totally demotivated and tired :(

Chennai Sangamam

This month government of Tamilnadua and Tamilmaiyam together conducted Chennai Sangamam. It was a 5 day event. Initially I did not take it seriously and did not bother to go and see it. However wanted to see it.

On the last day, along with my office friends, I went to Chennai Sangamam at Lady Wellington College Grounds, Marina Beach Drive. WOW!!! It was a such a wounderful time.

The day we went Sillambattam was displayed. Have seen all these only in movies and seeing it in person was such a great experience. Also the crowd. It was like seeing a Tiruvizha. Huge huge....... crowd. Most of them with their family. My heart felt very happy to see people with their family together - for a change not in front of television or in theater.

I should also mention about food. This is the main reason I went to Sangammam. They had variety of authentic South Indian (more presiously Tamilnadu) food. Three of us had gone and so we ordered for different variety of food. It was so Yummy.

Then we roamed around and took few snaps and finally with no heart to leave we left the place.

Next year have decided to go on all 5 days...
